Drawing Style Game

Participated in a drawing style art challenge with a friend of mine, and these pieces are the result! The goal was to draw myself in 16 different styles, while ALSO creatively inserting myself into the universes in whatever bizarre fashion I saw fit. I learned an incredible amount from this challenge, and had a fantastic time.

The whole thing!

My style! As I went through these style variants, there were some distinguishing feature touchstones I kept in mind: Wavy blonde hair, hooked nose, freckles, and a long-ish/ovular face.

The mouse took some research to get juuust right in the peanuts style!

A Countess of Lemongrab! My choice here started with the "hooking" nose and... devolved from there. Yes, in Adventure Time's universe I am not a princess but a shrieking entitled WENCH!

Big fan of rocks and minerals here! For my "gem" (mineral) I chose Realgar, aka "Ruby Sulfur." It was once used in fireworks manufacture! Secondary visual inspiration was a phoenix.

A little forest-dwelling fawn who has spiders living in her messy curls! Wanted this character to be of a similar age to our main characters, Dipper and Mabel.

A post-mewberty princess, complete with wings and six arms! I was surprised by the level of complexity in some of this show's character designs, at least, compared to what I'd expected.

A villainous cowgirl! Gotta let out my inner horse-girl somewhere. Lol. Took lots of research to come up with an original silhouette that still felt like it belonged to the show.

Tim Burton is a toughie; it’s more about getting the right “feel” than anything. I envision this as a sort of “movie pitch” concept art piece. (The Little Angler Fish? Lol) I enjoyed pushing the ugly-pretty aspects of this design.

Big fan of Bob's Burgers, and a big dancer, so I knew immediately that I wanted to be part of the dance troupe from the episodes featuring Josh (one of Tina's love interests.) The pose is inspired by Bob Fosse choreo!

Envisioned myself aged up here, retired and comfortable, with the library of my dreams. Perhaps this character could serve as yet another "role model for Lisa" type.

As a MEGA fan of Rick and Morty, this might have been the hardest for me to approach, even though I'm familiar with the style. I opted for an ex-protégé of Rick who he screwed over, on a quest for revennnnnge!

I'd never watched Dragon Ball before, but I did my HW and watched it to understand the universe. Anyone who knows me knows I HATE drawing vehicles, but I was so dang charmed by their style that I had to commit to it. Gotta say- it was inordinately fun.

Pushed myself forward in time to the Legend of Korra era for this, envisioning myself as a modern Republic-city waterbending gal. If it wasn't obvious, heavy inspiration was drawn from "Singing in the Rain."

Knew from the offset that I wanted to be a Freddie Moore centaurette from Fantasia. Nobody draws ladies better than Freddie. Draped myself in wisteria- my favorite flower.

Another show I'd never seen! I did my research here too and watched it. Opted for a cheesy DDR/rhythm game villain. (I love DDR)

Might have saved my fave for last. I re-watched multiple films for inspiration (and for fun.) I wanted to capture that feeling of joy and peace that’s so prevalent in Ghibli films. And also the wind; I love the blustery days in Ghibli films… so much.

BONUS: One of my friends wanted herself done up all centaurette-like, and, since I had failed to get her a Christmas gift, wish granted! Lol.
